Engineered Hardwood Flooring
When remodeling our home or building one from scratch we have to decide on so many things. We have to know what the theme of the home should be so that every detail works smoothly together and nothing looks out of place. Many of us will naturally have many things in mind that we know we want to have. One of the most common of these is the type of flooring we wish to use.
Many of us love to use hardwood floors because they are easy to maintain, durable, and add a great look to any home. However, real hardwood floors are expensive and can have many problems. When installing wood floors you have to maintain it perfectly or it can be damaged by water or heat.
To avoid these potential problems people will substitute the real thing for something that is very close to it – engineered hardwood flooring. This type of flooring is made using plywood, hardwood, or HDF. On the top of the plank is a hardwood veneer that has been glued to the center of the core.
While it is not true hardwood flooring it has some very real characteristics that they share. The fact that you can purchase it in almost any type of hardwood species leaves the possibilities open to decorate your home in any way. With engineered hardwood flooring you are given something that is durable, stable, and more resistant to heat and water damage.
The stability of the flooring comes from the many layers that is used to produce it. There are three to four layers that make up the whole of the engineered hardwood flooring. On the top you have the hardwood veneer and beneath that is three core layers that are produced with high density fiberboard, hardwood, or plywood.
